Digital Access & Assistive Technology
Not everyone has the same access to technology although, more technology is becoming available in today's technology driven world.
"Helping to provide and expand access to technology should be goal of all digital citizens. To become productive citizens, we need to be committed to make sure that no one is denied digital access."

Some staff at Gunning Bedford Middle School took a survey to explore our digital access and assistive technology use.
Digital Access Results
While many staff believed that a majority students had access to technology outside of school, many did not feel they had access to technology within school. Over 50% of Gunning Bedford staff surveyed believed that they had access to technology within school about half of time or LESS!
Assistive Technology Results
While a variety of assistive technologies are used by the Gunning Bedford staff surveyed, a majority of staff do not use assistive technologies often. Only 44% use assistive technologies every week or more. Additionally, only 44% of Gunning Bedford staff surveyed have had professional development on assistive technologies. In all, there is more to learn about assistive technologies!
